Dr. Kimberly Baltzell is a Professor in the School of Nursing at UCSF and Director of Partnerships for UCSF Institute for Global Health Sciences. She is the Director of Global Action in Nursing (GAIN) with projects across Malawi, Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Memphis, Tennessee. Dr. Baltzell has worked with colleagues across UCSF on updating the WHO Basic Emergency Care Course, particularly as it pertains to training nurses. With other nursing colleagues, she is exploring appropriate intervals for emergency care refresher training to make sure emergency skills are sustained across sites. In addition to her PhD, Dr. Baltzell has a Masters in Global Health Sciences.
